Unison Solutions’ biogas conditioning system for Delhi Charter Township, Michigan, is featured in BiogasWorld’s 2026 Showcase Report.
The feature covers the system that Unison designed and manufactured for the township’s wastewater treatment plant in Holt. Unison supplied the plant’s original conditioning system in 2009, and when the township expanded in 2023 to add co-digestion and a new combined heat and power engine, it turned to Unison again.
The new system adds hydrogen sulfide removal and handles higher gas volumes while fitting within the original system’s footprint, with duty/standby chillers for redundancy.

Project Overview
When Delhi Charter Township became the first municipality in Michigan to install an Integrated Biomass Energy System, Unison Solutions played a central role in that success.
At the heart of that system is biogas conditioning, the critical step that transforms raw digester gas into a clean, reliable fuel. Unison has supplied that equipment from Day One.
Gas Conditioning, Built to Scale
Unison’s original system for Delhi combined gas compression, moisture removal, and siloxane removal specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of microturbines. It was manufactured, assembled and factory tested in Unison’s 90,000-square-foot facility in Dubuque, Iowa.
When Delhi expanded the facility in 2023 to add co-digestion capacity for third-party organic waste, the township again turned to Unison.
The system added hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) removal alongside gas compression/moisture removal, and siloxane removal, specifically designed to handle higher gas volumes and support a new combined heat and power engine/generator. It was engineered to fit within the original system’s existing footprint and infrastructure and built with duty/standby chillers for redundancy. The system was installed and commissioned in 2025.
A Constant Partner in Renewable Energy
From the original installation to the expansion, Unison’s conditioning equipment has been a constant behind the scenes, helping Delhi Township turn a wastewater byproduct into a dependable, revenue-generating energy source for the community.
